| Springboard offer a comprehensive CD manufacturing and packaging service. Ranging from simple CD replication, through to complete product manufacture, including Packaging Design & Print, and advice on product distribution. A comprehensive service to suit your requirements.
Springboard can offer a complete CD Replication & Mastering service for Audio CD. On body print finishes can be supplied, ranging from single colour print to full colour print, including Offset Printing for Picture Disks. Both large & small runs receive the same meticulous attention.
Springboard can supply small (or large) one off orders for Audio CD. The complete product can be supplied including print and packaging, All you need to do is supply us with the
following:
- Your master in a suitable format (DAT or
C3D/CD-R preferred.
- A computer graphic file of your artwork in a suitable format (Corel 8, Adobe Photoshop or Quark preferable for transfer to final film. Or you can supply final film but for full details refer to our specifications section.
- Full clear instructions of what you want.
- A cheque to cover the costs of the project. We will do the rest.

| The Slimline jewel box is a 2 piece box capable of holding 1 CD. It is approximately half the thickness of the standard jewel box and is used for "Singles" within the music industry. The spider for disc location and retention is part of the box. Slimline Jewel cases accept a special paper part referred to as a "J Card" which fits into the front cover of the box. |

Introduction to Packaging and Specifications
Plastic Cases or Jewel Boxes - Made from clear plastic with capacities from 1 to 6 discs depending on the design chosen. Several different styles exist which offer different facilities. Trays used in the standard Jewel Box and Brilliant boxes are grey as standard but can be obtained in a variety of colours. Check availability before committing yourself to a particular colour or design combination. Each case has different paper parts depending on the design. See below.
Sleeves - Discs can be packed in a variety of sleeves including plastic, tyvec, plain paper and printed card. Printed card sleeves can be made in a wide variety of styles. Please discuss the options with your sales contact.
Other Cases - Discs can be packed in containers which have a location plate, to hold the disc, fitted to a printed card outer which opens like a book. There are a number of patented designs which can all be supplied. Digipak, Ecopac, Compac etc.
Slip cases - A card sleeve which can be closed at one end. Can be used to bundle a number of the above items together .e.g. for a 4 disc pack.

Specifications
for Films for Printing of Paper parts
All
images for printing on paper parts e.g. Inlays, Booklets, boxes must be
supplied according to the following guidelines. If films are received
which do not follow these specifications then either a delay or an
additional charge may be incurred to overcome the problem.
Polyester
based film 100 micron (0.004"), positive right reading, emulsion side
down, one piece hard dot.
Free
from scratches and packed so that they cannot be damaged in transit or
handling including folding or creasing.
Screen
ruling at 150 lines per inch (60 lines / cm)
Screen
Angles - Yellow = 90 deg.: Cyan = 75 deg.; Magenta = 45 deg.: Black = 15
deg.
Text
/ Logos etc must have a minimum distance of 3mm from the cutting edge of
folding line. See Layout grids.
Reversed
out lettering should not be below 8 point.
Films
for booklets must be correctly paginated into "Printers Pairs"
and each set of films should have the page numbers indicated on the films.
Allow
a bleed of 3 mm around all outer edges. The film its self must be a
minimum of 20mm larger on each side than the image to be printed.
Each
film must be marked with the correct colour either one of C,Y,M,K or a PMS
reference if a special colour is to be used.
Marked
to indicate registration, cutting and folding marks. (indicated outside
the bleed area. (Lines of 0.1 mm width are normally used)

The "Master Identification Band" of the disc is visible within the area from 25 mm diameter to 45 mm diameter. This may obscure the appearance of any image or text placed in this area if it is not on a full colour background.
4 target points with an outer diameter of 2 mm each are required. These must be positioned outside the printing area of the compact disc at the following co-ordinate positions in relation to the centre of the disc. (45,45), (45,-45), (-45,-45), (-45,45) all in mm. |
